Gold Vermeil (pronounced ver-MAY) is a thick layer of solid gold over sterling silver.

The band and crescent moon was hand sculpted in wax and attached to the original shell, made into a mold and cast in sterling silver using a traditional casting technique then plated with 14k solid gold. This ring is solid and with a wonderful weight.
